A new live chapter is taking shape. Major support would not simply make Robot Apocalypse larger—it would let the project become something it has never had the resources to be.

Next production signal

Robot Apocalypse: Human

Robot Apocalypse began asking questions about humans and machines before the current generative-AI era. Now the technology has caught up with the fiction.

Human is envisioned as the next major live chapter: a theatrical collision of live performance, machines, circus, dance, drag, music, handmade worlds, projection, audience participation, and emerging technology.

At its center is a question the project has spent a decade circling: as machines become more capable, what do humans choose to protect, surrender, reinvent, and become?

All other details about the show remain inside the machine for now. What can be shared is the intention: strange, funny, emotionally alive performance at a scale that respects both the artists and the audience.

Future production vision. Dates, venues, presenters, and partnerships are not yet announced.

Conceptual vision · future production

The next world is taking form.

These development images begin to define the visual language, character tensions, and live architecture of Robot Apocalypse: Human. They are a creative compass—not documentation of a finished production, and not a promise that every detail will remain unchanged.

World architecture

A stage built for crossing realities.

Live performers, handmade objects, projected worlds, sound, circus, story, and audience ritual occupy the same machine. The goal is not spectacle for its own sake, but a space large enough for several versions of the future to collide.

Character development

Three signals.
One unstable system.

The emerging story is held between a visitor who cannot be optimized, a Queen who commands the worlds, and a cowboy technocrat whose confidence greatly exceeds his wisdom. All other details about the show remain inside the machine.

01 · The visitor

Human

Poorly optimized. Emotionally unstable. Difficult to delete. A disruptive traveler whose curiosity may be the system’s greatest threat—or its only hope.

02 · The creator

The Queen

Creator, conductor, and ruler between worlds. She can make the impossible happen. What she wants is not obedience, exactly. It is devotion.

03 · The operator

Randy Reboot

Tech bro. Cowboy. Loud mouth. A comic agent of machine power armed with outdated technology, questionable decisions, and total confidence.

The audience is not outside the story.

Human is being imagined as a shared transmission: part performance, part ritual, part party, and part question about what people are willing to become together.

Current ambition

Locally rooted.
Built to travel.

EXPANSION SIGNALMulti-city

A future pathway into other communities where art, performance, and technology collide.

What support unlocks

Not excess.
Capacity.

  • Artists paid fairly

Professional compensation for performers, designers, technicians, fabricators, filmmakers, producers, and creative collaborators.

  • A world audiences can enter

Larger scenic fabrication, ambitious projection, interactive environments, physical installations, and expanded audience participation.

  • Technology with a point of view

Access to emerging tools used as artistic material and critical inquiry—not as a substitute for human authorship.

  • Time to make the work well

Rehearsal, engineering, testing, production planning, accessibility, safety, and the ability to solve problems before opening night.

  • A life beyond one night

Multi-performance runs, touring pathways, public conversations, educational programs, and relationships with new audiences.

  • Documentation that carries the signal

Professional photography, film, press materials, and an archive capable of representing the live experience.

Proof of life

Ten years of making the impossible anyway.

Robot Apocalypse has already filled stages with large collaborative casts, handmade machines, projected worlds, aerial performance, strange characters, and audiences willing to enter the fiction.

Partners wanted

Help build the conditions for the work.

Robot Apocalypse welcomes conversations with arts and cultural organizations, presenters, venues, philanthropic funders, sponsors, producers, fabricators, technologists, educators, documentarians, and creative partners.

The strongest partnerships will respect the project’s artistic independence, its Flagstaff community roots, its commitment to fair artist compensation, and its curious—but never uncritical—relationship with technology.
